Quick OverviewDisc stylus with M5 thread, ceramic disc Ø16 mm, tungsten carbide stem Ø3.5 mm, length 60.5 mm. For use on coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
The stylus is an important part of the measuring system. During the measurement, the stylus is in direct contact with the part.
Disc styli are often used to measure recesses and grooves. Depending on the application, different materials for stems, adapters and tips are available.
Ceramic styli tips are primarily used for long or heavy styli and disc styli. Due to their resistance to wear, ceramic styli are often used for scanning extremely rough surfaces, such as cast iron.
A tungsten carbide stem has high stiffness and less thermal expansion, compared to stainless steel.
